Lisa Jackson

The woman for today is Lisa Jackson. She is the head of the EPA and a member of the Obama cabinet. She is a chemical engineer which is a profession that still has very few women in it. Last time I checked women make up only 13% of all chemical engineers and chemical engineering is one of the branches of engineering that has the most women.

In a time where the administration is looking to reduce greenhouse gases and reduce toxic waste her role has become increasingly more important. She is also the first African American to hold this position.
